Maybe it’s simply wanting them to be happy & in a good place, even if they can’t ever feel the same way toward you, and accepting & knowing you’ll both be okay, whether you’re a part of each others’ lives or not.
If you don’t get goosebumps or tingly feelings, you’re not weak in the knees or feel like you’re floating on air, but you think about said person constantly and revel in being in their presence, does that count? Maybe you put up with their BS for too long, not because douchebags turn you on, but because you’ve always believed in them & know deep down that’s not who they are inside? Maybe you spend years demonstrating your loyalty & how’d you never ever let them get hurt again if you were just given a single chance? Maybe you try to show them how much care & affection you possess solely for them, even though they are incapable of giving it back…but that’s not real love now is it? While we’re on the subject of loving somebody so much it makes you cry & needing someone to the point where you can’t sleep at night, what exactly does it mean to love someone? I’m a little late, about 19 years or so, but Brandy knows my pain…OR should I say, Dianne Warren, since she is the one who penned the song Have You Ever? that articulates my feelings so eloquently. Have you ever loved somebody so much it makes you cry?
